AUGUST 2026

⅓ acre hilltop garden with lovely farmland views. Terracing, borders, lawns and pergola create space for an informal layout with planting for colour effect. Features inc large wildlife pond with water lilies, bog garden and small formal pool. Emphasis on carefully selected herbaceous perennials mixed with shrubs and old fashioned roses. Gravel garden for sun loving plants and scree garden, both developed from former drive.

On the day cream teas, cake, coffee and a range of refreshments will be served.

Admission for adults is £4; children are free to enter with an accompanying adult.

No need to book, just turn up on the day and see a beautiful garden whilst enjoying refreshments.

Sunday 9th August 12pm | Hot August Night 2026,  Mickleover Sports Club, DE3 9FB

Enjoy live music from some of the UK’s top tribute acts and bands, performing all your favourite hits on our spectacular outdoor stage with stadium sound and big screens. Bring your own picnic or treat yourself to delicious food and drink from a wide variety of local vendors – the perfect way to soak up the summer atmosphere with family and friends. Under 4’s are free.

Thursday 20^th August 8am to 7pm | a return of our Grand Days Out trips to Skegness; a coach; children with parents/guardians accompanying them are taken out for the day to enjoy the beach, some fish and chips with a pack up for the return journey.

SEPTEMBER 2026 

Saturday 5^th September starts 930am | Turnditch and Windley Show, Meadow Farm, Windley and will commence with Horse & Pony events at 9.30 am.

Come along for our tombola, raffle, Plinko and 100 squares nomination game.

Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th October | a maintenance weekend at Open day at the centre, Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre, 1, Scarborough Avenue, Skegness, Lincolnshire, PE25 2SZ

Monday 12th October from 7pm until 11pm | The Himalayan Gurkha restaurant, 80 Macklin Street, Derby, DE1 1LF.

Join for a selection of curries, some magic, maybe a game or two and a raffle.

Thursday 19th November | COSMO London Road Derby DE1 2PA dinner hosted by the Mayor of Derby Jonathan Smale with exciting food, a raffle and an auction.
