Why are gifts so important?

The support and generosity of people like you is essential in helping us raise over £250,000 we need each year to run this life changing centre.

Legacies are the foundation for many UK charities and are vital in making sure that all the good work they do can continue.

Thankfully 74% of the UK population support charities and when asked 35% of people say they’d happily leave a gift in their will once family and friends had been provided for. So once you have looked after your family and friends please consider leaving s life changing gift to the Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre (DCHC).

If you do decide to support the DCHC by leaving a legacy we would be delighted. A legacy, because it may be larger than the average donation, brings so much joy and pleasure for all the youngsters that come on holiday with us.

What kind of gifts can you leave?

A legacy from a supporter is truly appreciated by the DCHC and helps to secure the holidays of less fortunate children of Derbyshire. You may wish to consider the following types of legacy:-

• A Pecuniary Legacy – a monetary gift
• A Specific Legacy – a non-monetary gift, for example the gift of a specific item such as shares, bonds or personal effects.
• A Residuary Legacy – the residue of your estate (or a share of it).
• A Plate Collection – you may also request a collection from your friends and family at the time of your passing to be donated to the DCHC.

Your gifts will contribute to a warm and safe place for children to stay, plus food, trips, time at local attractions like Butlins and potentially a donkey ride! Without this many children in Derbyshire wouldn’t have the opportunity for such activities. 

With your help we can continue to provide the underprivileged children of Derbyshire with an opportunity to enhance their personal and social development in an enjoyable way; benefitting them now and for the future.
